"Dear Freya, I am very happy to report that Kaya passed her CGC and Therapy Dog test today. She is from the Sierra/Casey litter and now 2.5 years old. She is an absolute sweetie, incredibly gentle and calm. I am very excited that we will be able to do visits in nursing homes now!

As you might recall, my friend Debbie has Kaya's sister, Alessi. Kaya and Alessi adore each other. We go for long walks around nearby lakes twice a week, and often see each other on weekends too. If they are out of town, we have Alessi, and if we are out of town, they take Kaya. It has worked out so well for both families. Sometimes we go camping together, the two families, and both dogs adore that.

"Charlie has become an integral part of our family. He and our Yellow, Daisy, get along like brother and sister. He is, by far, the most affectionate dog we’ve seen. He is my “brown shadow” and I love it.

Charlie repaid us in total, and more, in the early morning hours of January 8th. Lynn and I enjoyed a fire in our fireplace Saturday afternoon and evening. We went to bed, and several times I partially awoke smelling smoke and thinking I should get up and check it out…only to drift back to sleep. Finally, Charlie nuzzled me sharply enough to wake me and to realize that the room was filled with smoke and that the house was on fire. Our smoke alarms had failed, and we had been breathing smoke for quite awhile – I probably went back to sleep because of the shortage of oxygen. After putting out the fire, the fire chief told us we were maybe 30 minutes away from succumbing to smoke inhalation and an hour from having the house fully engulfed in fire.

The damage, fortunately, was limited because we caught the fire before it had a chance to take off. Lynn, Daisy, Charlie and I are all OK – the really important thing. But, for anyone who ever thinks that adopting a dog later in its life is not rewarding – or that they won’t bond with your family, I beg to differ. Not only has Charlie become our loving companion and brother to Daisy, he saved all of our lives. Thanks for helping him to become part of our family!"

"I can't tell you enough what a wonderful dog she (Sadie) is. She was completely housebroken by 3 1/2 months, and no longer has to be crated during the day. We leave it open and sometimes she goes in it at night. However, now she sleeps in bed with us because our cat Rusty died on Nov. 22. What a tough time for us, but we still have Rusty's sister and having Sadie really takes the edge of the loss off. Everyone that knows Sadie wants her!! As you can tell, she is a very happy, spoiled girl. It's the best thing we could have ever done. I'm so glad we were patient with the waiting list because I feel that we got the dog we were meant to have from you."

"Dear Freya, Just wanted to send you an update on our precious Sadie Lady. In just 3 days she will be 8 months old and it's so hard to believe. She continues to be a wonderful dog. She is so smart. She knows just about all of her toys by what they are. We can ask for piggy and she will retrieve piggy. Ask for a boney and you get a bone. Ask for a ball, get a ball. You get the picture. This past Saturday we took Sadie for a walk in the woods. She had so much fun. She jumped and splashed in every creek she could. She has such a passion for water. She enjoyed the smells and sounds of nature. We are so pleased with how she continues to grow and be so intelligent. I have a friend from work who wants a Golden and thought maybe for Xmas. His wife surprised him with a book on Golden Retrievers instead!! I directed him to your website and he was amazed. Hopefully when he is ready he will contact you. I told him he can't go wrong."

"Hi, Freya, This is an update on Jack Daniels from the litter of Beau and Lovely Lilly.... Jack is now 5 months old and is a really, really great puppy. I think you would be pretty proud of him - he's finishing up Puppy Kindergarten in 2 weeks and has been the star pupil. Right from the start, he's been a quick learner and willing to please. He is a very nice dog and makes friends wherever he goes. He goes to puppy daycare once or twice a week and is teacher's pet there. The world is just one great big playground - whether it's his cousin Bingley (an Australian Shepherd) or his buddy, Mozart (a mutt that has a lot of Border Collie in him) or the other dogs at The Puppy Palace or Puppy Kindergarten - he just has a ball for himself. He's also a cuddler like his mother."

"Hi Freya, I just had someone stop by my house and he just couldn’t stop talking about Bella and how well behaved she is and how beautiful she is. They lost their lab to cancer a while back but were hesitant to get another one because his wife didn’t think she could handle a big crazy dog. They are in their late 50’s and have a great fenced in yard so they already have everything they need to be pet owners. He asked me for your web address and as he was leaving he said if he could find a dog like Bella he would have one in a minute. I had Bella to the vet for her one year check up yesterday and he said she is a fantastic dog and says she will make an awesome agility dog. I hope we can make you proud and she can become a champion some day. I’ll keep you up on our agility training and how she is doing."

"Penny is a wonderful dog. She LOVES to retrieve and go hiking in the woods. My husband and I think she thinks she is one of the kids. When they go out in the back to play she is right behind them ready to go. She is smart as she learns things quickly and is easy to train. She is loving and gentle with children of all ages. When we want to go for a walk she loves it, and if we want to lay on the couch and just watch tv she is happy with that too."

He started puppy preschool last week and is doing so well. There are a few other Labs in the class but he is the best looking and has the shiniest coat of all and his build compared to the other labs is amazing. He is going to be one strong, muscular boy! I plan on taking him through all of the obedience classes to become a therapy dog which I know he will love. "Hi, Just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you again for our fabulous puppy. We named her Indigo, though she also answers to Indie-Pooh and Pup-a-doo. She is totally black all over...she even has no whites of her eyes. She's gorgeous and she knows it. She enjoys long walks in the park, swimming (endlessly in our pool), tug-o-war, and watching the Yankees in bed. She really likes socializing and has learned to not jump up on friends and guests any more. She can sit, walk, fetch, heel, and lay down, and hasn't even started obedience school yet. We were going to invest in an electric fence but she never leaves the yard without permission so we decided against it (a considerable savings). She likes to learn new commands and gets very bored when we stop teaching her things. She also enjoys frisbee, soccer, and jogging very much. She has a little problem with chasing the kitties (playfully, not aggresively) but she's working on it. She's totally potty trained and sleeps in her crate until 8 or 9 AM. We have no complaints; I don't think she has any either. Thanks again."

Our other dog Beau is his best friend--they are inseparable. It has given new life to Beau who is 12 1/2 years old. He is no longer stiff 'cause he never sits down--he runs & plays ball with Jake-eventually they both fall down. I have taken Jake to Vet (7/24/2005-he got a shot & being wormed-everything fine).We go back again the 15th of Aug. for more shots. I just wanted you to know how happy we are with Jake & how much we love him!!! WE feel he's pretty happy with his new home 'cause he's always giving puppy kisses & wagging his tail & whole body!!! It was a pleasure meeting you & buying Jake from you."

"Hi, Just a note to let you know Tucker is doing great! He's growing bigger and more beautiful everyday. He is a happy puppy, who likes to play all day, although on these terrifically hot days, he prefers to jump in his baby pool and then find a nice cool place to sleep away the hot afternoons. He is almost done his invisible fence training, which he as picked up very quickly. He will be going to the vet for neutering next Tuesday, the 2nd. We all love Tuck very much even Toby, they are inseparable, you call one dog and you get two! Again Tucker is a joy and he continues to be a very well behaved puppy, to date he has only chewed one item that didn't belong to him. I will be sending some new pictures very soon... P.S. My 6 month old grandaughter Izzy, loves Tucker and Toby! She and her parents can't wait for their own Candyheart Golden!"

Her trainer said that she is amazingly smart- she learned everything after two tries so after 6 weeks, she's amazing with heel, sit , stay, down and come. I was so proud!!!"

"Hi Freya, We just wanted to give you an update on Goldie. She's doing wonderfully & she has to be the best dog we've ever had. She's playful, affectionate, SMART, & just a funny dog to watch & be with. Recently, I put in an Innoteck invisible fence so Goldie would be able to have free reign of our 1 acre property (supervised). It took her only 2 days to understand the concept of the system where the white flags indicated the boundary limits of the property & that she should stay inside that area. She loves going out to play fetch and just having the freedom to be outside with us. She truly is a family dog & feels the need to be with us all the time. She gets along with every animal we have come in contact with. We couldn't have asked for a better dog."

Yesterday we drove up to Bushkill Falls (2 1/2 hr drive) & took Goldie through all the trails. We always get the most wonderful comments on her regarding her beauty & her manners."

"Hi Freya: Sorry for the delay in writing. I have been swamped for the past few months. Well, the male yellow lab puppy from the Willie and Jeanne litter of 1/16/05 we got from you in March is a real winner. A beautiful, loving, friendly pooch with a great personality. Everyone loves him. He is my daughter, Kristen's pride and joy. The Vet thinks he is AOK. All shots and visits done. We even put a micro-chip in him for ID purposes. In about a week we start puppy training classes, however, he is pretty good at most commands already. He is also pretty much housetrained. He is about as playful as can be, and loves to get into trouble in little ways. The best was he destroyed both my wallet and a pair of my glasses!! Ouch. Puppies need lots of chew toys. He is now about 40 pounds. When we got him he was about 12. Wow. How quickly he is growing. Anyway, you could not ask for a better pup. Thanks again. We love him. When I get a minute I will send you a few photos."
