Available Older Pups / Adults...

Currently Available:

We currently have a couple older Golden pups, started with basic house and crate training, and fully vaccinated and up-to-date on monthly heartworm & flea/tick prevention, available to good pet homes. These pups were held back as some of my personal tops picks from our last couple litters and will make excellent family pets. They are very sweet, smart, beautiful, and loving. Must be spayed/neutered, and will of course need additional training as they grow. They are well started but not fully trained at this age.

Why are they available?

In addition to the occasional litter of puppies, we sometimes have older puppies or adult dogs available.

Older Pups: Available older pups are often our "pick" pups from a recent litter that we held onto until we made our final selection. These are pups that have had additional time, training, and expenses put into them. They are not unwanted or "the last to be chosen." In fact, there are often many benefits to an older pup as opposed to a 2 or 3 month old, such as that they are already fully vaccinated, they have better physical control over their bodily functions, and they are able to learn and retain training better due to their longer attention spans. They are no longer babies, yet they're still pups and will still bond very quickly with a new family.

Young Adults: Available young adults are usually dogs we had origionaly kept for our breeding program that we have since decided to place. These dogs are fully vaccinated, crate trained, and in most cases already mostly trained. Once again, they were origionally chosen as our pick pup from a previous litter, and are excellent examples of their breed, while they may or may not be what we consider show or breeding quality, they will absoulety make excellent family pets and loyal, loving companions. Ocassionaly, we have a young adult available because an adoptive family made the tough decision to return it to us. When this happens, it's not because there's anything at all wrong with the dog, but because of other circumstances that forced the family to give up their pet, like new pet allergies, increased work schedual that doean't allow much time for a dog, or having to move and being unable to take the dog with them. Training levels of young adults will range from mostly trained to fully trained. The greatest benefit to a young adult is it's already out of the puppy stage and now a calm, generally well-behaved adult, which can be an added bonus for someone not looking to deal with and train a young pup.

Older Dogs: Finally, we also sometimes have dogs available that we have decided to retire from our breeding program. Some dogs we keep forever to live out their years as part of our family, but we simply can not keep them all. We feel it's our responsibility to make sure each dog gets all the time and attention it deserves, and sometimes that means placing a dog after retirement. These dogs will be fully vaccinated, trained, and in the case of a retired breeding dog, they'll also have their offical health certifications and maybe even be titled in show, field, or obedience. These are dogs we have put a lot of time and money into, and are ready to spend the second half of their life as your loyal and loving companion.

Prior to schedualing an appointment to see any of these dogs , please forward a completed Older Pup / Adult Dog Application to qualityretrievers@yahoo.com for review, and be sure to check out our current Visitation Policy.
